Orientation eve

At last, the day has arrived (or will in 1hr and 42min). All my nesting, kitchen-stocking, gidget-purchasing, and other preparatory actions have come to fruition.

Nervous? Not so much...relieved? Definitely.

In other Erica's IT news:
1) Lexmark apparently supplies owners of new Lexmark printers neither ink nor data cables as a matter of practice. So my "cheap" printer was actually $20 (for the data cable) and $34 (for 2 ink cartridges) more expensive than I had reckoned - which puts it about even with the competing HP printers (the ink for which is far more prevalent and less expensive).

2) The replacement data cable I used to post the images featured in "Virtual Studio Tour" was $20. The digital recorder I purchased for classes was $57 and I discovered, upon opening it today, included the very same data cable required by my camera. Which begs the question: do I make yet another sweat-soaked trip to WorstBuy to return the extra cable? Is the frustration engendered by the mere sight of their sign worth the $20?? Maybe not...

3) My new laptop came today (thankfully complete and in working order...the exception in what has been a massive electronics headache). In fact, I am writing to you from the new laptop.

Tune in next blog for my report on the orientation check-in proceedings.
