Could not, for the life of me, sleep last night. Haven't had insomnia this bad in years. Got up and wrote thank-you letters, watched the classic original 1986 "Highlander" (there can be only one!!!!) and perhaps caught 2-3 hours of fitful sleep.
So I wasn't exactly fresh this morning for orientation check-in. Ah well, what can you do?
Had photos taken for my transit card & the class directory, picked up my class schedule, and took a huge hit in text book expenses. Whooooeeee! Those babies ain't cheap. Already have 2 assignments, though class doesn't officially being until 9/4.
The fire alarm went off while we were book shopping. The bookstore clerks had to sweep the store and force out those of us still clinging to our shopping lists (yes, I was one of them...would rather burn than miss out on the one lightly highlighted used Torts casebook). It was, of course, a false alarm.
Found me a locker buddy (officially referred to as a "locker mate"), a kid I met at the admit dinner hosted in San Francisco earlier in the year. Nice to see a friendly face.
