My one week bench mark as a law student was marked by a game at Wrigley Field. Fellow students packed a couple of sections and it was clear that we've all found a place and become comfortable with our class.
Feels good.
I was studying in a comfy chair next to a bank of windows in the library that overlooks Lake Michigan and realized that I was smiling and had been for some time. I don't mean the kind of quiet smile we often make to ourselves. This was a full on smile. And that's pretty much how I've felt all week. I'm brimming with excitement.
I'm in love with the idea that all the killer hard work coming up will be for me - not for an employer. It feels great to be a student again, a state of being I was unable to enjoy as an undergrad with a full time job. I want to savor it since this is probably the last chapter of my life where I will have that sort of satisfaction.
I am where I am supposed to be.
